Add Skymeter incrementally into your existing service

Multiple Enforcement Options Are Available
A number of payment applications, such as using a paid facility, require a supporting enforcement system to make sure all drivers pay, not only Skymeter-equipped drivers. Enforcement officers have three ways to validate a Skymeter car: by database, wirelessly and visually. A database check involves reading a license plate and confirming the car is registered to a Skymeter system. In a subsequent audit one can confirm that the car records match the observed position. Wireless enforcement involves sending a signal to which the meter responds with a ‘health check’. An officer on foot can do a visual inspection of the meter’s LEDs.
Legacy Payment Systems
A service provider may have existing hardware installed by the roadside or in an existing fleet of cars for billing. They can easily add Skymeter-enabled cars to their system, by simply receiving a second data feed, either because the car is already equipped, or because they decide to transition to Skymeter in the future. If required, the on-board hardware can be modified to include a hardware element to interact with existing infrastructure directly.
Skymeter Can Interface with All Service Providers
The output of Skymeter’s metering as a service is a list of aggregated financial transactions, absent location information. Transactions are calculated according to the service provider’s rules, and sent to their billing center. Any service provider authorized by the driver may receive transactions. If a driver wishes to add a new service, or even change service providers, they can do so without changing the system. Skymeter simply sends data to a new source.
